7 Ways you can protect your money

Large bank safe

Protecting your money has become very important as more and more of our lives go online and, more recently, on our mobile. But there are ways you can easily protect yourself and your money, and most are just about being aware and exercising a little common sense.

Check your statements or, more simply, regularly check your accounts using online banking, making sure there aren’t any unknown purchases or withdraws;

Avoid scams Remember the golden rule: if it sounds too good to be true, it is!

Protect your identity The easiest thing you can do for this is to start shredding any documents you get with your name and address on it. You should also check your credit report annually;

Get some good financial advice; You can easily minimize costs and maximize savings by seeing a financial expert;

Pick complex passwords One trick you can try is to think of a pattern that you use with every site – a sort of secret code – so your passwords are both secure and memorable; Protect your computer and phone Make sure you have up-to-date anti-virus and other protection for your computer and your smart phone;

Protect your phone Keep your phone on you when you are out and make sure that it has a password protection on it.

All of this is really about keeping your information safe. Do this and you will go a long way in protecting your money as well.
