Terms and Conditions – Sweet Home Dream Competition

General

1. This promotion is being conducted by Queenslanders Credit Union Limited, ABN 85 087 651 063, AFSL and Australian credit licence 238022, 120 Edward Street, Brisbane Qld 4000 (the “promoter”).

2. Entry into this competition deems acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

Who can enter

3. To be eligible for entry, contestants must be individuals, over the age of 18 and reside in Australia.

4. Directors and staff of the promoter, and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter but may vote in the People’s Vote category.

How to enter

5. Entrants must visit the website www.sweethomedream.com.au, describe their home related dream and upload a photo (.gif, .png or .jpeg file) that illustrates their entry.

6. While there is no set word limit, entrants are encouraged to keep their entry to approximately 50 words or less.

7. All entries must be received by the promoter by 11.59 pm AEST on Tuesday 20 October 2015.

8. Entrants are responsible for all materials submitted as part of their entry to the promotion. Each entrant warrants to the promoter that all material does not breach any privacy, confidentiality, contractual, copyright, trademark, intellectual property, proprietary property or other rights of other persons.

9. Each entrant agrees to indemnify the promoter for any damage it may suffer as a result of claims by the true owners of intellectual property included with an entry.

11. The promoter reserves the right to modify, alter or remove part or all of any entry that it considers in breach of these Terms and Conditions (as determined by the promoter in its discretion) without notice.

Number of entries permitted

12. Multiple submissions from the same entrant will be permitted.

Prize on offer

13. Total prize value is up to $5,000. There will be two prizes available as part of the promotion – a first prize of $2,500 for the People’s Vote category and a first prize of $2,500 for the Judge’s Choice category.

14. All entrants will receive a voucher entitling them to have the usual home loan Establishment Fee waived if they apply for a new Queenslanders Credit Union home loan before 31 October 2017. This voucher cannot be redeemed for cash and only one fee waiver may be claimed per borrower.

Open, close draw and notification of winner

15. The promotion commences at 9.00am AEST on Tuesday 8 September 2023 and closes at 11.59pm AEST on Tuesday 20 October 2015.

16. There will be two elements to the promotion – 1) the People’s Vote category, and 2) the Judge’s Choice category.

17. Voters in the People’s Vote category will be limited to one vote per entry per IP address for the duration of the competition. There is no limit as to how many entries you may vote for.

18. The winner of the People’s Vote category will be awarded on Wednesday 21 October 2015 to the entry that received the most votes during the voting period.

19. In the event of a tied vote regarding the winner of the People’s Vote category, the prize will be awarded to the tied entrant who lodged their entry first.

20. The winner of the Judge’s Choice category will be decided by the promoter and will be awarded to the contestant the promoter judges as being the most creative entry. The ability to remain close to the indicative word count (50 words or less) will also be considered in judging.

21. The winner of the Judge’s Choice category will be selected at 10:30am on Wednesday 21 October 2015 at Queenslanders Credit Union Limited, 120 Edward Street Brisbane 4000. The competition does not involve an elimination round. The Judge’s Choice award will be allocated with no consideration to the public voting process. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the decision by the judging panel.

22. It is possible for one entry to win both categories of the competition.

23. The winner(s) will be notified by phone and in writing within two days of the draw. Their name and city will also be published at www.queenslanders.com.au for a minimum period of 28 days from Friday 23 October 2015, and will appear on Queenslanders Credit Union’s social media channels.

24. Should the promoter be unable to contact either winner within a period of three months, the promoter reserves the right to award the People’s Vote award to the entry with the second highest number of votes. In the case of the Judge’s Choice award, the entry deemed by the promoter to be the second best submission will receive the prize. In the event that an unclaimed prize winner must be decided by the promoter, the judging will occur at 10:30am on Wednesday 20 January 2016 at Queenslanders Credit Union Limited, 120 Edward Street, Brisbane Qld 4000. The winner will be notified by phone and in writing within two days. Their name and city will also be published at www.queenslanders.com.au for a minimum period of 28 days from 23 January 2016, and will appear on Queenslanders Credit Union’s social media channels.

25. The winner agrees that the promoter is not liable for any event, circumstance, loss or expense arising from the taking or use of a prize by the winner and/or any other person.

26. The prize cannot be exchanged, transferred or altered. The promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the prize winning and independent financial advice should be sought.

27. In accepting the prize awarded in this promotion, the winner agrees to participate in any publicity arrangements made by or on behalf of the promoter. The promoter shall bear all costs in respect of any arranged publicity, which must be conducted at a time and place that is convenient to the winner.

28. In the event of a dispute, the decision of the promoter is final and binding on all parties and no correspondence will be entered into.

Further terms and conditions

29. The promoter, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel, suspend, terminate or modify the promotion if fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond the promoter’s reasonable control adversely affect the promoter’s ability to conduct the promotion as described in these Terms and Conditions, subject to state regulation.

30. The promoter will not be responsible for any delayed, lost or misdirected mail or any other communication.

31. All entries become the property of the promoter. The promoter collects personal information about you, including for example your name and contact details which you provide when registering, for the purposes of conducting this promotion. Any disclosure of such information will be made as required by law.

32. The promoter may use the entries for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media without notice and without any fee being paid unless otherwise advised by the entrant. All entrants will be entered into a database and may be contacted by the promoter with competition updates, as well as special offers from time to time. Entrants confirm that they allow their details to be used for these purposes. If entrants no longer consent to their details being used for future marketing purposes, the entrant should contact the promoter on [email protected].
