Queenslanders Credit Union was proud to be a sponsor of the Annual City of Ipswich Sports Awards, held at the Ipswich Civic Centre on 3 November.

The awards recognised the advancement of the sport and recreation industry in Ipswich and highlighted the diversity of activities and people involved in local clubs and associations.

Queenslanders CEO John Weier presented the Senior Sports Star of the Year Award to Ali Brigginshaw, who represented her state and country at rugby league in 2012.

In receiving her award, Ali spoke of her love of Ipswich and coming from a proud Ipswich sporting family.

Ali’s sights are set on playing in next year’s World Cup in England and the Olympics are her long-term goal.

Overall the evening was a fantastic celebration of local sporting achievement and featured former Australian netball captain Liz Ellis as guest speaker.

Queenslanders is also a sponsor of the monthly Ipswich Sports Awards.
