Queenslanders Credit Union is proud to launch a new community initiative that will aim to recognise and celebrate the unsung heroes of local sports clubs. The initiative represents an expansion of Queenslanders ongoing commitment to supporting the vital work of community organisations and clubs in Queensland.
The new initiative, entitled Club Hero, provides the opportunity for club communities to recognise volunteers and participants from within their club who have made an outstanding contribution to club life during 2016.
Club Hero involves the club community nominating club volunteers and participants for the title of ‘Club Hero of the Year’ by submitting a photo and description via their club page at www.clubhero.com.au .
The nominee from each club that received the most votes via a secret online voting process will be crowned the ‘2016 Club Hero of the Year’ and receive a $100 cash prize. The club hero from each club will progress through to the final for the chance to be judged the overall ‘Queenslanders Club Hero of the Year’ and a receive a $1000 cash prize.
Queenslanders Executive Manager of Sales and Marketing, Brett Maunder, said Club Hero was developed to recognise those who contribute most to local community clubs.
“Queenslanders has a long association with local sports clubs and community groups, in partnering with them to grow and develop their important work in the community.”
“Club Hero as a positive way to encourage those key people in each club community to continue their good work, and assist club communities in recognising them,” Mr Maunder said.
Club Hero is open now at www.clubhero.com.au and will continue through until the 31 August, 2016. A similar program will operate during the summer sporting season.
