Queenslanders Credit Union joins Android Pay

Queenslanders Credit Union announced today that it has teamed up with Google to be one of the first financial institutions to launch Android Pay in Australia.

Android Pay is the simple and secure way to pay on mobile devices. It’s available at shops across Australia, wherever Visa payWave payments are accepted.

Mr John Weier, CEO, Queenslanders Credit Union said, “We are pleased to be providing our members with access to the latest in new payment technology. Android Pay adds significant value to the customer’s shopping experience through enabling the Queenslanders Credit Union Visa Debit card to be utilised for a purchase via a simple tap of an Android mobile device.”

“We’re excited to bring the simplicity and security of mobile payments to Android users in Australia. Using Android Pay is more secure — and much faster — than rummaging through your wallet for a plastic card. Starting today, Aussie shoppers will be able to use Android Pay at almost 800,000 contactless payment terminals across Australia.” Pali Bhat, Senior Director, Product Management, Google”

With Android Pay, customers can use their Android phones to make purchases in stores and in apps. It offers a fast, simple and secure way to use a card to buy things in-app or in-store—all without pulling out a physical wallet. It’s a secure, mobile purchasing system that works with Android devices running KitKat (4.4) or higher.
