Queenslanders awarded 2016 Money Magazine Home Lender of the Year
Queenslanders Credit Union has beaten over 140 other lenders from across Australia to be awarded the title of Home Lender of the Year in the 2016 Money Magazine Consumer Finance Awards.
The Credit Union is the first Queensland based lender to win the award and only the second winner drawn from outside the ranks of the big four banks.
Queenslanders CEO John Weier said the result is made possible by the organisation’s commitment to putting the needs of their customers at the forefront of everything they do.
“Because we are customer owned, we don’t have the trade-off between what’s good for the customer and what’s good for shareholders that the listed banks do. Our shareholders and customers are one and the same, which makes it easier to be 100% focussed on delivering great value to everyone we deal with,” Mr Weier said.
Being recognised on the national stage has become somewhat of a habit for Queenslanders. In 2014 they were awarded Credit Union of the Year in the Smart Investor Blue Ribbon Awards and they have been voted Credit Union of the Year in the customer-voted Mozo People’s Choice awards the past three years running.
Mr Weier said the award was a reminder to all consumers of the benefits of considering a smaller lender for their home loan needs. “Customer-owned lenders like Queenslanders aren’t as well known as the big banks, but when you combine our competitive products with the high levels of service that credit unions are renowned for, we feel it’s a winning formula.”
To celebrate, apply for a Queenslanders home loan prior to the 31 July, 2016 and enjoy no establishment fee.
