23 Aug – Changes to Verified by Visa

From 23 August, the Verified by VISA service will become even easier for shoppers to use. After that date, cardholders shopping online with merchants participating in the Verified by VISA service will use predefined authentification information when they verify their identities.
Previously, cardholders were required to enter a personal assurance message when shopping online with businesses using the Verified by VISA service. Now, they will only need to enter predefined details – such as their postcode or date of birth – to confirm their identity.
The Verified by VISA service aims to reduce the likelihood of fraudulent card usage for online shopping and is available to all VISA cardholders. The service only applies to online purchases made with merchants who are participating in the Verified by VISA program and all new and reissued cards (distributed after 23 August 2023) will be automatically enrolled for the Verified by VISA service at no extra cost.
