The children from Vincent State School’s year 4/5JB class and their teacher, Ms Jordana Bosworth, were presented with the prize of $1000 for winning Queenslanders Credit Union’s “Love the Maroons” banner competition on Friday, 30 July.
Presenting the award was Margaret Murray, manager of Queenslanders’ Annandale branch, who was thrilled to have an opportunity to meet the winning students. “I thought their entry was great,” she said, “and it’s lovely to be able to present the kids with the prize money and see their winning banner up close.”
Ms Bosworth said there was serious discussion going on about how best to use the winnings. “There are a lot of worthy causes and it’s a matter of deciding what the children and the school consider the most important,” she said.
