Ipswich locals given sporting chance

Queenslanders Credit Union was named the inaugural ‘Corporate Sponsor of the Year’ at the City of Ipswich Sports Awards on 8 November.

The award recognises the Credit Union’s commitment to supporting local sporting groups in fields including rugby league, cricket, cycling, netball, referees, a state representative for touch football, and the Ipswich Parents and Old Boys (an organisation that raises money for junior sporting teams to undertake tours).

Staff members Brett Maunder and Rachel Coyne accepted the award and said the evening was a wonderful celebration of local sporting achievement.

“The Sports Awards are all about recognising the advancement of the sport and recreation industry in Ipswich and highlighting the diversity of activities and people involved in local clubs and associations,” Brett said.

“Queenslanders Credit Union is proud to be honoured with the very first Corporate Sponsor of the Year award in recognition of our support of the Ipswich community.”
